IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1) Kimchi packaging may be expanded or bloated.
Due to the nature of fermented Kimchi, the production of C02 gas (which is harmless) will continue to be produced.
Do not worry, it is safe to eat!
2) Kimchi may produce a sour taste/smell.
As the Kimchi is fermented for an extended period of time, it is natural for it to become more sour.
The Kimchi is safe to eat when stored properly (refrigerated), and will become more fermented (and sour) as the storage duration lengthens.
STORAGE NOTES:
*Once received, transfer the kimchi into a glass container and put into the fridge tightly sealed. The cabbage should always be submerged in the
kimchi
liquid to avoid developing mold.
*Once open, it's best to consume it within a few days up to a week, refrigerated, so the cabbage will stay as crisp as possible and slow down the softening of the cabbage.
For Consuming
1) Only take what you need for the day and placed that portion into another container.
2) Keep in mind that you should only use dry utensils to take the kimchi to avoid contamination.
3) Always keep the kimchi refrigerated.
Signs that kimchi has gone bad
- Looks different (Dull/ extra moisture in the jar)
- Smells different
- If stored incorrectly, mold can develop in
kimchi
jars or even on the cabbage itself.
