Qwirkle comes with 108 pcs 32*32mm square wooden tiles, for example, there are 6 red "STAR" tiles, and 6 green, 6 orange, 6 yellow, 6 blue, and 6 purple ones as well. So do the other 5 designs, total 108pieces.
The game begins with all the tiles being placed face down and mixed thoroughly and then onto the corners of a table. Each player sit to the sides and then randomly draws 6 tiles not to show to other players.
Who first to show the cards? Payers tell each other how many pcs same colors or designs he have, got the most player plays first, to show the most group tiles facing upward and put onto the center of the table.
If more than one palyers get the same most tile groups, the older player first.
After that the right side player, in turns, should have more or less tiles in groups even one piece. Put onto the center connecting to the already put ones. Try the most groups first so that to get more scores each time.
Same desgn and color tiles (i.e.100% same ones) can not go together in one time!
It is not allowed to add another 100% same piece to a line or row that the 100% same one is already there.
The tiles showed each time by one player should put in one line, although no need to be together.
Get more new tiles to total 6pcs again and wait for your next turn to show tiles again.
If no more tiles on the corners, just try to finish those in hands. the first finished player will get another 6 scores and the game finishes.
Then try to find who gets the most scores and wins.
A player may either place one or several tiles on the table or give up this turn to exchange one or more tiles in the hands for the rest random tiles on the corners. i.e. if the tiles in the hands not good enough, then you changed tiles to get new tiles back but you cannot show this time until next time.
Normally 30-45 minutes the game lasts.
Rule of scores:
The scores can be gotten from different rules. Add new tiles (can only in one line) connecting to same color or design rows or lines, calculate the connected groups and get the total scores for one time showing tiles.
for example, you show 3 "STAR" tiles, red, blue and yellow, put on the table in 1 row,and connected at least 1 piece to those in the middle that they are in the same colors or designs.
for example, the blue STAR connected to a blue group of 2pcs of other design tiles which without blue STAR.
for example, the red STAR connected to a red group of 3pcs of other design tiles which without red STAR.
How many scores?
1. 3 STARS, 3 scores;
2. 3 blue tiles, 3 scores;
3. 4 red tiles, 4 scores.
total 10 scores this time.
Adding a tile group upto complete 6 pcs, will get 12 scores, instead of 6 scores.
The first finished player will get another 6 scores as mentioned above.
